Parent Education

In the spring and fall, Kelly Priest offers an eight-week course for parents of children with an autism spectrum diagnosis. Much more than a support group, this course is for parents who are ready to expand their thinking about autism in order to understand a child's diagnosis in ways that are healthy, adaptive and support a better quality of life for the whole family.

Parents meet with Kelly twice a month for structured parent education and guided dialogue. Topics include the Five-Factor Model of autism, contrasting social and medical models of disability, parent and family identity and autism, disclosure and discretion, and more.
